Feelings And Your Prescription Slip.

"Your feelings decide your prescription slip."

Whenever any disease struck us ,we correlate only at physical level. Though the reality is that whenever we get unwell or contract a lifestyle disease like hypertension ( BP), diabetes ( sugar), thyroid or some grave one like Cirrhosis, cholitis or God forbid the fatal one like cancer...the cause is not only physical. Majority of diseases have their roots at mental and emotional levels. 

Remember Disease is -
"Dis + ease" = Disease
means whenever you are not at ease, it is onset of a disease. 

Any disease starts with subclinical symptoms like getting moody, irritable, temperamental. These days these symptoms are taken very normally as a by-product of stress. The reason could be any for these  symptoms , but one thing is certain that if these symptoms are not addressd timely, the result would ultimately be a disease sooner or later. 

To get the things more clearer in our head, just imagine a situation where a mother who is taking care of a  4 months old baby and simultaneously she is handling her kitchen work, other household chores , her office calls, the maids and what not. During all this madness,her baby also starts to cry a little ,to whin a little.
Now she has two options.
First option-
Leaving her all the work aside she first attends her baby for a while by just giving her/ him a  glimpse full of motherly affection and a small lullaby or a sweet chat like 'my baby', 'my sweetheart'. And by getting this attention the child settles down and starts playing again in his cradle. In the mean time the mother is able to manage her other fronts quite well. This whole scenario goes on, the child whins a little, mother pats him with love , settles him and gets back to her work. Ultimately over the period of few hours finally the mother is grossly done with all major works and now comfortably sits with the child to spend her time. The result is a reasonably peaceful mother, grossly finished works and a happy and playful child.


Second option-

The child starts crying a little, whin a little , mother doesn't come to him thinking that she would finish her work at a stretch and then finally would attend the child. During this time the child gets more cranky and as time passes ,he starts howling and sometimes may even choke due to consistent crying.
Now the mother doesn't have any option other than leaving her all the work in between and to be with the child and settle him down which will now take good long time as the child is quite crankier now.
After pampering him for few hours , with lot of pending works , mother is completely drained . The result is a drained mother, drained child , pending works.

All would agree that first option is the better one. 
Same situation implies to us when we are surrounded by umpteen works and our mind is cranky inside like a baby. The choice is ours , whether to attend our mind, our feelings in between or to dump them for a longer period and  let them develop into bigger  volcanos like that baby in second option.

We all go through these kind of situations when our mind is not feeling good inside may be due to some friction with a colleague or spouse , some pending mails, pending works where everything seems to be a priority at same time. We prefer to finish everything first except to attend to ourselves like that mother in second option.
And then at the end of the day we are not left with any energy to listen to ourselves. Rather we find it easier to eat uncontrollably some fast food , some  unhealthy stuff, or watching late-night Netflix, multiple mugs of coffee at night and worst is surfing through internet, FB, instagram with no clear aim . 
Daily the whole saga of these events is repeated without figuring out what actually is bothering us?? The issues are generally trivial if addressed timely.
Leading this kind of lifestyle initially doesn't lead to grave diseases except the initial symptoms like acidity, flatulence, bloating, irritable bowel,acne, allergies, headaches, migraine, cervical etc.etc.etc. 
So now the vicious cycle of "mind - body connection" comes into play.

The issues were trivial, the solutions were simple but just due to our constant ignorance, we are not at ease and hence the dis(ease) sets in.
Following the art of minimilisam also adds up to happy feelings . Minimilisam means owing fewer possessions, owning only the need based things. We need to create a balance between being a minimalist and being ostentatious, outlandish and showy. Don't stuff your wardrobe and home with all kind of clothes,  shoes, fancy furniture and home decor etc. Just stick to being moderate in everything. Buying trendy clothes or building a luxurious house, owning latest gadgets is a great way of quality living but don't go overboard , stay balanced.
Filling your life with need based possessions and little more will bring benefits like:
- Less decision making hence saving your own energy and avoiding exhaustion
- feeling of declutter and more clarity- stuffed spaces create blurring in our thought process
- less and simple furniture in house leads to more flow of energy 
- saves money 
- feeling of contentment and empowerment as there is no end to owning the materialistic things. 
Certainly keep yourself abreast with ongoing changes in society but keep yourself under personal monitoring as excess can create undue stress and overwhelming feelings leading to change in your prescription slip for no good. 

Just remember even if we are left with 1 % of health in our body, we can still regain 99% of the lost health just by shear self -discipline and consistency of good and healthy  practices.
The first step is to attend to your own feelings and validate them. and you will see that you are rewriting your own prescription slip where there is no mention of any lifestyle disease. Be heedful of emotional pollution.

" When pain , misery , anger , happen to you,
It is the time to look within you, not around you."

So just take frequent breaks to listen to yourself, your mind, your body . Self- love and self - care are the most divine way of thanking God for making the world's best creation and that is " YOU."

Romance with yourself , you will never get hurt.
